Melodies from Zamfir's Instruction Book: Ex.77 - 89
On this CD are the melodies recorded from Zamfir’s Instruction Book p.64-71. These melodies are played in G-Major and e-Minor in the range from B1 to G3, with note duration of eighth,  quarter, dotted quarter, half, dotted half, whole notes and syncopes. The intervals are up to 3ds and 4ths. These melodies are played with the simple, the double, the tied and the slurred  tongue stroke. Furthermore, accentuation is practiced with using diaphragm push and the combined tongue stroke with diaphragm push. The student should be able to keep his breath over four measures. He also practices inhaling by stages, drawn sounds, sliding the panflute and playing the e-Minor scale. Every melody is first played in Full Playback and then in Half Playback. Thereby the student is able to absorb the melodic line by ear from the Full Playback. Once he is able to play the melody well, he can use the Half Playback to practice. Thereafter he can use the music cassette for performing while being accompanied by Half Playback. The following three music examples in Real Audio format exemplify the gradient arrangement.
