AROSA
From July 15th to 21st, 2007

General Information
Seminar directed by George (Jöri) Murk, Langnau a/Albis (Switzerland)
These courses are for adults and teenagers, who have been playing for at least 6 months or
for advanced panflute players.
Classes: Monday through to Friday, 9 AM to 12:10 PM and 3:30
PM to 5:40 PM, 5 lessons per day, each one 50 min.
Based on requests from former
students, we do not allow visitors in our classes to avoid
interruptions. We are not offering private lessons. Once registration is
completed the participants are divided into groups according to their level.
Registration deadline: May 31, 2007.
We will issue group assignment in writing at the end of June .

You can choose a total of 5 lessons
from each category 1 - 5 above. Seminar costs are independent from the number of lessons taken. If you are not interested
in taking all five lessons offered, you could use the time to practice (no reduced
rates).
Bass and Tenor panflutes are available on request
at no cost for the duration of the seminar.
Course Description
1a. Interpretation and techniques in playing
Rumanian panflute folk music (one lesson per day): Based on
Rumanian melodies, you'll be
taught to determine which playing techniques should be applied. Additionally you will be
introduced to interpretation methods using techniques such as posture,
embouchure, breathing, panflute positioning, different techniques of tongue articulation, accidentals, vibrato and
embellishments.

1b. Elementary techniques for playing panflute (1 lesson per
day): Based on prepared classical melodies (easy
- medium - advanced) which have been composed by Peder Rizi for this seminar, you'll be
taught the following techniques: posture,
breathing, tongue, embouchure, vibrato, panflute positioning, different techniques of tongue articulation, accidentals,
motion sequence and
looseness.
Training techniques and trainings routines
using his newly released teaching aid "Das 10 Minuten Training" (The 10
Minute Training) which will be available for sale in Arosa.

(easy - medium - advanced) from Divertimento I, II and III or Arvinte I and
II. You will be shown possible playing techniques, interpretations and
instructions about posture, breathing, embouchure, different techniques of
tongue articulation, accidentals, vibrato and embellishments.

1d. Interpretation and techniques
in playing classical panflute music (one lesson per day): Based on
classical melodies
(easy - medium - advanced) composed by Constantin Arvinte, you will be
shown possible playing techniques, interpretations and instructions about
posture, breathing, embouchure, different techniques of tongue articulation,
accidentals, vibrato and embellishments using the sheet music books "Arvinte
I" and "Arvinte II".

2a. Interpretation to deepen the
acquired playing techniques: In an additional
lesson you gradually enhance skills obtained in courses #1a, 1b, 1c and 1d.

2b. Two lessons Bass-Panflute Course: Here you learn in two daily
lessons to play big panflutes, the bass panflute.

2c. Two lessons Blues Course: Here you learn in two daily lessons
to play Blues-rhythm melodies with the panflute.

3a. Correpetition (rehearsal with prepared melodies, accompanied by another
instrument): In correpetition you work with melodies which you have
already practiced and are able to play. You learn to express a melody with
accompaniment as you would in a live performance. It is absolutely necessary
that you bring along all sheet music for accompaniment used in the lesson.
You will be working on expression and presentation of the style of music you
chose.

3b. Correpetition (rehearsal of unprepared folk and entertainment
music): If
you dont want to come to the seminar in Arosa with an already prepared piece of
music to play, you could ask to be assigned to the correpetition lesson for folklore and
entertainment. You will be practicing some melodies given and accompanied
by the course instructor. This is done in a group.

4a. Choir for beginners: You rehearse pieces for several voices, which will be performed at the end of the
seminar.

seminar.

5a. Rhythms and Dance Course: You learn the rhythms and steps of
traditional Rumanian folk dances.

5b. Improvisation I for beginners: One lesson per day where you'll
learn to play uninhibited and to express your feelings with playing the
panflute.

intermediate/advanced players: This course is for players who have
completed Improvisation I already.

Music I: You'll learn to play Bolivian melodies with Octavio
Ramires.

Music II: You'll learn to play Bolivian melodies with Octavio
Ramires. It is required that you have taken Bolivian Music I last year.

Course Instructors
Gheorge Ciolac studied at the Academy of Music "Gheorge Dima"
in Klausenburg and graduated in 1973 with a music diploma. As a professional musician he
performed with various formations and instructed at the Music Academy in Fürth, Germany.
Diana Dogaru is a pianist from
Brasov, Rumania
Bernhard Hörler studied at the
Music Academy in Zurich. He is organist in the catholic church St.Mauritius
in Oberengstringen since 1984and since 1994 he is chief organist at the
catholic church
St.Agatha in Dietikon/ Zurich.
Jörg Frei, Kaethi Kaufmann, Umberto Miotti, and Claudia De Franco have been teaching for many years at different DAJOERI Panflute Schools in
Switzerland and each perform in concerts in different formations.
Julian Jantea is a Romanian accordionist and plays in different groups.
Mathias Inauen is organist and director of a church choir in Lucerne,
Switzerland.
Felix Kölla is a musician, band
leader and accompanies musicians in different formations.
Peter LeFeber musician and music
educator, was teaching at Art College of Amsterdam in Hilversum.
Georg Masanz is organist in Nussbaumen (AG) and Kirchdorf.
He is at the Musikhochschule Lucerne as professor for organ improvisation. Through extensive experience with various panflute
players, he developed a very thorough understanding and affinity for this instrument.
Jon Micu is professional musician (taragot)
from Rumania and performs with various formations in all of Europe.
Cédric Monnin is a Swiss panflutist (from Neuchatel) who was taught by Gheorghe Zamfir
and Simion Stanciu SYRINX.
George (Joeri) Murk is a Special Education Teacher and
founder of the DAJOERI panflute schools and the DAJOERI panflute
construction.
Cornel Pana/bigger>/color>/fontfamily>,
a Rumanian panflute player, studied music (panflute) at the Gheorghe Enescu
Gymnasium and later at the Musicacademy in Bucarest, where he graduated best
in his class in 1978. Since 1986 he is a professor und university lecturer
at the Musicacademy in Bucarest and at the Music Gymnasium Dinu Lipatti for
panflute.
Nicolae Pîrvu is a well-known
Rumanian panflutist who studied with Fanica Luca in Bucarest, Rumania. He
teaches at the "Academy of Arts Amsterdam" and received knighthood by the
Dutch Queen.
Octavio Ramiro-Rivera-Rocabado from
Bolivia, plays the panflute since many years and has published different
Bolivian music (written music and CDs)
Peder Rizzi completed his musical training with a diploma in clarinet
and achieved first place in music education. He is since 1983 teaching
at the College for Education in Kuesnacht and since 1987 at the Conservatory and Music
University of Zurich. Besides his career as a panflute solo player, he is
also a composer, arranger, studio musician and educator.
Jacob Schenk is a Dutch panflutist. He was a student of Nicolae Pîrvu at
the "Academy of Arts Amsterdam" in Hilversum.
Jan Rokyta is a professional cymbalist from
Czechoslovakia, living in Holland.
Lise-Anne Schwander is an instructor in various DAJOERI
Panflute Schools in Switzerland and conducts the DAJOERI-panflute choir in
Zurich.
Werner Wettstein teaches panflute at the
Volkshochschule in Wynenthal.
Andrea Zeller is a
pianist from Switzerland.

All participants will receive a confirmation of their
registration from the Kulturkreis Arosa. A detailed program will be included. After
this confirmation your registration is final.
